Jerry Rice 127 Foundation
Toy Drive & Festival
Over 500 people attended the 16th Annual Jerry Rice 127 Foundation
Toy Drive & Festival on Saturday, December 11th in downtown
Burlingame. The Malouf Family Trust graciously donated
use of their iconic Burlingame Avenue store for the event. The crowd
cheered Jerry when he entered the store, then he graciously posed
for photographs with everyone who brought a toy. Rice, resplendent
in designer jeans and a dress white shirt, was in extraordinary
form, greeting every person with a heartfelt smile. NFL Alumni Associate
Member Carolyn Hoskins, who began this toy drive in her driveway
16 years ago, chaired the event, which was collaboration between
the Domini Hoskins Black Learning Center and Museum and the NFL
Alumni. FedEx and many local merchants also contributed heavily
to the success of the day. The direct beneficiaries of the day will
be children throughout the Bay Area, as over 20 organizations are
slated to receive toys.
