Billy Wilson Memorial Service

Surrounded by Hall of Fame friends and the loving family of the late Billy Wilson, the NFL Alumni Northern California Chapter held a memorial service for their lifelong friend on Saturday, April 18, 2009, at Chapter Headquarters in Redwood City.

Wilson, the former 49ers receiver and longtime scout and administrator, was remembered as a gentle, kind and perceptive individual, who was loved and admired by all who knew him.

In attendance were Pro Football Hall of Famers, Y.A. Title, High McElheny, and Steve Young, along with approximatly150 friends, former teammates, executives, players and coaches who came to say farewell to a cherished friend.

The service was held adjacent to the old 49ers practice field where Wilson played as an athlete, and the reception was held in the NFL Alumni Building, which became a cause close to his heart in retirement.
