The NFL Alumni Northern California Chapter hosted their annual NFL Draft Day Party Saturday, April 28, at the Santa Clara Hilton.

Former gridiron greats representing over a half dozen teams gathered with fans while they watched the end of day one of the 2007 NFL Draft.

Coach Nolan was delayed in speaking to The Faithful due to the length of the first day of the draft, however team owner John York was greeted warmly and spoke to the assembled gathering both openly and candidly about how far the 49ers have come as an organization and the great progress the team has made managing the salary cap and the selection of key personnel.

When Coach Nolan arrived with wife Kathy after the longest first day of the NFL Draft in history, he was greeted enthusiastically and spoke about the day’s selections and how they will fit in the 49ers system. His excitement was contagious and the crowd left ready for the team to start training camp!

A heartwarming moment occurred when Coach Nolan recognized his former Pop Warner Football Coach Sammy Aranyosi who was in the audience.

Afterward, both Nolan and York visited with fans, signed autographs and posed for photographs.
